„Zajmuję się fotografią, filmem… lubię to robić, choć często przekraczam granice komfortu na tyle, że trudno to nazwać zajęciem przyjemnym, raczej zmaganiem z własnymi słabościami i możliwościami. Stawianie czoła wyzwaniom w krytycznych sytuacjach otwiera wyjątkowe możliwości poznania siebie i świata dookoła. To próba odnalezienia siebie bez skupiania się na sobie, a nawet częściowa rezygnacja z własnej osoby. To, co robię w sztuce jest raczej narzędziem niż celem. Ciekawość, będącą motorem do działania, zaspokajam stopniowo, stawiając nowe pytania, które raczej nie mają ostatecznych odpowiedzi. Chyba najbardziej doceniam w tym wszystkim drogę, proces uczestnictwa siebie w akcie tworzenia.”
Urodzony w 1977 roku w Erewaniu. Reżyser, scenarzysta, fotograf i tłumacz. W 2001 roku ukończył reżyserię filmów fabularnych na Wydziale Kultury Armeńskiego Państwowego Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego, pracownia prof. Dmitria Kesayantsa. Po studiach specjalizował się głównie w realizacji reklam społecznych. Do Polski pierwszy raz przyjechał w roku 2005 jako stypendysta Programu im. Lane’a Kirklanda Polsko-Amerykańskiej Fundacji Wolności. Jest absolwentem kursu fabularnego i kursu dokumentalnego Mistrzowskiej Szkoły Reżyserii Filmowej Andrzeja Wajdy (Szkoła Wajdy). Laureat wielu nagród i wyróżnień, m.in. nagroda im Lucjana Bokińca za najlepszy film w konkursie Młodego Kina na Festiwalu Filmowym w Gdyni, Złotej Moreli na Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Filmowym w Erewaniu, Grand Prix Jury Europejskich Krótkometrażowych Filmów na festiwalu Premiers Plans w Angers i td.
Członek, Stowarzyszenia Filmowców Polskich, od roku 2022 członek Zarządu Koła Reżyserów oraz członek współzałożyciel Trójmiejskiego Koła SFP.
Od 2012 roku jest związany z ASP w Gdańsku. Rozpoczynał pracę jako asystent w pracowni "Przestrzeni Audio i Video" prof. Wojciecha Zamiary a także w pracowni "Fotografii Dokumentalnej" prof. ASP dr hab. Leszka Krutulskiego. Samodzielnie prowadził zajęcia z "Podstaw Fotografii". W 2016 roku obronił tytuł doktora sztuki na Wydziale Grafiki ASP w Warszawie, pracownia Multimedialnej Kreacji Artystycznej, promotor prof. Stanisław Wieczorek.
Kilkakrotnie był stypendystą Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego oraz Międzynarodowego Funduszu Wyszehradzkiego (Bratysława). Stypendysta Ministra Edukacji i Nauki dla wybitnych młodych naukowców. W roku 2023 na Wydziale Rzeźby i Intermediów współzałożył i kieruje Międzykierunkową Katedrą Małych Form Filmowych i Wideo. Prowadzi zajęcia z przedmiotów "Elementy Realizacji Filmowej" i "Realizacja Małej Formy Filmowej" na Kierunku Fotografia i Kierunku Intermedia, Adiunkt na Wydziale Rzeźby i Intermediów.

“I work with photography and film... I enjoy doing it, although I often push beyond my comfort zone to the point where it's hard to call it a pleasant activity—it's more of a struggle with my own limitations and capabilities. Facing challenges in critical situations opens up unique opportunities to discover both myself and the world around me. It is an attempt to find oneself without focusing on oneself, even a partial renunciation of the self. What I do in art is more of a tool than a goal. I gradually satisfy my curiosity—the driving force behind my actions—by asking new questions that often have no final answers. I think what I value most in all of this is the journey itself—the process of involving myself in the act of creation.”
Born in 1977 in Yerevan, he is a director, screenwriter, photographer, and translator. In 2001, he earned a Master’s degree in feature film directing from the Faculty of Culture at the Armenian State Pedagogical University, studying under Professor Dmitry Kesayants. Following his graduation, he primarily specialized in the production of public service announcements (PSAs).
He first came to Poland in 2005 as a recipient of the Lane Kirkland Scholarship awarded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation. He is a graduate of both the fiction and documentary programs at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing (Wajda School).
He has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Lucjan Bokiniec Award for Best Film in the Young Cinema Competition at the Gdynia Film Festival, the Golden Apricot at the Yerevan International Film Festival, and the Grand Prix of the European Short Film Jury at the Premiers Plans Festival in Angers, among others.
Since 2022, he has served on the Board of the Directors’ Circle of the Polish Filmmakers Association (PFA) and is a co-founder of the Tricity branch of the PFA.
He has been affiliated with the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Gdańsk since 2012. He began as an assistant in the “Audio and Video Space” studio led by Professor Wojciech Zamiara, as well as in the “Documentary Photography” studio of Professor Leszek Krutulski, PhD. He also independently taught courses in “Basics of Photography.”
In 2016, he earned a PhD in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the Multimedia Artistic Creation studio, under the supervision of Professor Stanisław Wieczorek.
He has been awarded scholarships multiple times by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as well as the International Visegrad Fund (Bratislava). He is also a recipient of the Minister of Education and Science Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists.
In 2023, at the Faculty of Sculpture and Intermedia, he co-founded and currently heads the Interdisciplinary Department of Short Film and Video Forms. He teaches courses such as “Elements of Film Production” and “Production of Short Film Forms” within the Photography and Intermedia programs. He holds the position of assistant professor at the Faculty of Sculpture and Intermedia.
