Artystka, badaczka, kuratorka, członkini Plenum Osób Opiekujących Się oraz Seminarium Feministycznego. Absolwentka Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Poznaniu (fotografia) i Królewskiej Akademii Sztuki w Hadze (art-science). W 2022 roku obroniła doktorat na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku, gdzie prowadzi obecnie zajęcia z zakresu Postfotografii. Znaczna część jej działalności związana jest z praktykami kolektywnymi, których celem jest wypracowanie horyzontalnych metod funkcjonowania w ramach istniejących modeli produkcji artystycznej.
Laureatka licznych stypendiów, uczestniczka międzynarodowych programów rezydencyjnych (m.in. Museumsquartier w Wiedniu, MeetFactory w Pradze, Kunsthalle w Krems, Kunsthalle w Andratx, Apollonia European Art Exchanges w Strasburgu). Jej instalacje i fotografie wystawiane były między innymi w Muzeum Folkwang w Essen, w Państwowej Galerii Sztuki w Sopocie, na Biennale sztuki WRO we Wrocławiu, na festiwalu Transmediale w Berlinie, w Instytucie Mediów V2 w Rotterdamie, w Kunstlerhaus w Wiedniu, w Austriackim Forum Kultury w Warszawie, w Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Łaźnia w Gdańsku, w Muzeum Fotografii w Amsterdamie, w Fundacji Stroom w Hadze, w Pawilonie Czterech Kopuł MNWr we Wrocławiu, w Trafostacji w Szczecinie, w Galerii Bunkier Sztuki w Krakowie, w Gdańskiej Galerii Miejskiej, w Kunstverein w Salzburgu, w Galerii Ruyter w Wiedniu.

Artist, researcher, curator, member of the Plenum of Caretakers and the Feminist Seminar. Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan (photography) and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (art-science). In 2022 she received her PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, where she currently teaches Post-Photography. Much of her work is related to collective practices that aim to develop horizontal methods of functioning within existing models of artistic production.
Winner of numerous scholarships, participant of international residency programmes (including Museumsquartier in Vienna, MeetFactory in Prague, Kunsthalle in Krems, Kunsthalle in Andratx, Apollonia European Art Exchanges in Strasbourg). Her installations and photographs have been exhibited, among others, at the Folkwang Museum in Essen, at the State Art Gallery in Sopot, at the WRO Art Biennale in Wrocław, at the Transmediale festival in Berlin, at the V2 Media Institute in Rotterdam, at the Kunstlerhaus in Vienna, at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, at the Łaźnia Centre for Contemporary Art in Gdańsk, at the Museum of Photography in Amsterdam, at the Stroom Foundation in The Hague, at the Four Domes Pavilion of the MNWr in Wrocław, at Trafostacja in Szczecin, at the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery in Kraków, at the Gdansk City Gallery, at the Kunstverein in Salzburg, at the Ruyter Gallery in Vienna.
Dorota Walentynowicz's works are part of the collection of the City of Gdansk, the collection of the National Museum in Wroclaw, the collection of the City of Strasbourg, the collection of CCA Andratx, as well as in private collections.
