Graphics – Genesis, Rhythm and Relevance of the Creative Processes

This publication by Professor Adam Kamiński and Patrycja Podkościelny, MA (Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk), is an in-depth study of the role of workshop techniques in contemporary visual design. The authors argue that awareness of the material and manual gesture are key to constructing a visual message and are translated into the language of systemic parameterization of design. By combining the analog genesis of form with discipline of design, workshop becomes an autonomous research tool. This allows designs to acquire the depth and structural integrity often lacking in purely digital production.

The research project “GRAPHICS – GENESIS, RHYTHM AND RELEVANCE OF THE CREATIVE PROCESSES” is funded by a research activity subsidy for the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Project number: 03/WG/BN/2024
