Promocja młodych talentów z całego kraju oraz wsparcie początkujących twórców w samodzielnym zaistnieniu na rynku sztuki – to główne cele organizowanej przez gdańską ASP wystawy „Najlepsze Dyplomy Akademii Sztuk Pięknych”. Skierowana do szerokiej publiczności wystawa, będąca przekrojową prezentacją współczesnych zjawisk artystycznych, gości w murach Wielkiej Zbrojowni w Gdańsku już po raz jedenasty.

Chętnie odwiedzana przez mieszkańców Trójmiasta oraz turystów z Polski i zagranicy ekspozycja już na stałe wpisała się w kalendarz wydarzeń kulturalnych i artystycznych Gdańska.

Wydarzenie ma charakter konkursowy – biorą w nim udział wybrani absolwenci kierunków i specjalizacji: fotografia, grafika artystyczna, instalacje, malarstwo, intermedia, performance, rysunek, rzeźba, ceramika, szkło artystyczne, tkanina artystyczna wszystkich publicznych uczelni artystycznych. Oprócz fundowanej przez Rektorów nagrody głównej przyznane zostają: Nagroda Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Gdańska, Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Gdyni, Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Sopotu, Nagroda Marszałka Województwa Pomorskiego oraz Nagroda Krytyków.

W ramach współpracy z Gdańską Galerią Miejską, wybrany przez dyrektora Galerii uczestnik otrzyma możliwość zorganizowania własnej wystawy w roku następnym. Do tej pory możliwość zaprezentowania swoich prac mieli: Marta Hryniuk (wystawa w dniach 27.07– 17.09.2017 – „O, Little Bird”),  Teresa Otulak (wystawa w dniach 02.08-17.09.2018 „SeeSaw”) oraz Marta Krześlak ( wystawa pn. „Ruiny moich marzeń” odbędzie się w sierpniu 2019).

Wydarzeniem towarzyszącym wystawie jest panel dyskusyjny krytyków sztuki, który odbędzie się pn. „Nadzieje sztuki. Nowe artystyczne rzeczywistości w zderzeniu z życiem”. Zapoczątkowana w ubiegłych latach dyskusja stała się ważnym głosem krytycznym budującym refleksję wokół twórczości absolwentów uczelni artystycznych. Krytycy biorący udział w panelu przyznają też swoją nagrodę. W skład jury i panelu dyskusyjnego weszli: Bogusław Deptuła, Karolina Plinta, Piotr Sarzyński, Karolina Staszak oraz Iwo Zmyślony. Moderatorem panelu będzie dr hab. Zbigniew Mańkowski.

Szanowni Państwo,

przed nami kolejna edycja wystawy konkursu Najlepsze Dyplomy Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku. To już 11 lat, od kiedy w zabytkowych przestrzeniach Wielkiej Zbrojowni (Zbrojowni Sztuki) pojawiają się reprezentanci uczelni z całej Polski. Zarówno artystom, jak i promotorom ich dyplomów stwarzamy szansę zmierzenia się w pojedynku na sztukę. Jury konkursowemu, krytykom, znawcom, pedagogom, miłośnikom sztuki, kolekcjonerom, publiczności ponownie dajemy możliwość przyglądania się tym fechtunkom i tak szerokiego zapoznania się ze świeżym dorobkiem najmłodszej sztuki polskiej. Mam nadzieję, a wręcz jestem o tym przekonany, że i tym razem zostaniemy pozytywnie zaskoczeni, poznamy najnowsze tendencje w młodej sztuce i dopiero co kiełkujące idee twórcze, a także dojrzałe już prezentacje. Bardzo często od tego pokazu i konkursu zaczynały się kariery artystyczne naszej utalentowanej młodzieży artystycznej.

Jak co roku przyznane zostaną nagrody finansowe i nagrody w postaci wystaw indywidualnych w prestiżowych galeriach. Tym razem pula nagród jest największa w historii imprezy.  Na laureatów konkursu czekają: Nagroda Rektorów, Nagroda Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, Nagroda Marszałka Województwa Pomorskiego, Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Gdańska, Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Gdyni, Nagroda Prezydenta Sopotu, Nagroda Krytyków, Nagroda Dyrektora Gdańskiej Galerii Miejskiej i Nagroda Dyrektor Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej „Łaźnia” .

Chciałbym złożyć wyrazy podziękowania Ministerstwu Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego za kolejny trzyletni grant finansowy na organizację wydarzenia oraz fundatorom nagród: Rektorom uczelni, Wicepremierowi, Ministrowi Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego – prof. Piotrowi Glińskiemu, Marszałkowi Województwa Pomorskiego Mieczysławowi Strukowi, Prezydent Miasta Gdańska – Aleksandrze Dulkiewicz, Prezydentowi Miasta Gdyni – dr. Wojciechowi Szczurkowi, Prezydentowi Miasta Sopotu – dr. Jackowi Karnowskiemu, Dyrektorowi Gdańskiej Galerii Miejskiej – Piotrowi Stasiowskiemu oraz Dyrektor CSW „Łaźnia” – Jadwidze Charzyńskiej.

Chciałbym gorąco podziękować wszystkim pracownikom Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku – organizatora wystawy – którzy przyczynili się do jej realizacji.

Esteemed Graduates of Academies of Fine Arts 2019

11^th edition of the “Esteemed Graduates of Academies of Fine Arts” national exhibition in the Armoury of Art in Gdańsk.

Exhibition open: 3^rd August – 8^th September 2019, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Opening of the exhibition and the awards ceremony: 2^nd August 2019, 12:00 p.m.

Location: Armoury of Art in Gdańsk, ul. Targ Węglowy 6

Promoting young talents from all around the country and supporting coming creators in making their independent entry into the art market – these are the main aims of the “Esteemed Graduates of Academies of Art” exhibition organised by the AFA in Gdańsk. This exhibition – a presentation of all manners of contemporary artistic phenomena targeted at a wide audience – is held within the walls of the Great Armoury in Gdańsk for the eleventh time.

Attracting crowds of viewers from among the citizens of Tri-City and tourists from Poland and abroad, the exhibition has established itself as a permanent item in Gdańsk’s cultural and artistic event calendar.

The event is a contest – the participants are the selected graduates in photography, graphic design, installation, painting, intermedia, performance, drawing, sculpture, glass art, and fabric art from all public artistic academies. In addition to the main prize funded by the Rectors, we will be awarding: the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Award of the President of Gdańsk, the Award of the President of Gdynia, the Award of the President of Sopot, the Award of the Marshall of the Pomerania Province, and the Award of the Critics.

As part of our cooperation with the Gdańsk City Gallery, the participant selected by the head of the Gallery will be given an opportunity to organise his or her own exhibition in the following year. Heretofore, the possibility of presenting their works was given to: Marta Hryniuk (exhibition between 27^th August and 17^th September 2017 – “O, Little Bird”), Teresa Otulak (exhibition between 2^nd August and 17^th September 2018 – “SeeSaw”), and Marta Krześlak (exhibition “The Ruins of My Dreams” will be held in August 2019).

The event is accompanied by panel discussions between art critics, this year under the theme “The Hopes of Art: New Artistic Realities in Clash with Life”. The discussion initiated in the previous years has become an important critical voice building reflection around the works of the graduates of artistic academies. The critics taking part in the panel award their prize as well. The jury and the panel are composed of: Bogusław Deptuła, Karolina Plinta, Piotr Sarzyński, Karolina Staszak, and Iwo Zmyślony. The panel discussion will be moderated by dr hab. Zbigniew Mańskowski.

Sirs and Madams,

another edition of the “Esteemed Graduates of Academies of Fine Arts” exhibition and contest is ahead of us. For eleven years now, representatives of academies from the whole country have been gathering within the historic walls of the Great Armoury which we call the Armoury of Art. Both to the artists and their supervisors we provide a chance to face each other in a battle of art. The jury, the critics, experts, pedagogues, lovers of art, collectors, and the audience have an opportunity to observe this swordplay and familiarise themselves with the output of the youngest Polish artists. I hope – I am convinced – that this time, too, we will be positively surprised and we will get to know the newest trends in the young art and sprouting ideas as well as already mature presentations. Very often this exhibition and contest is what launches the artistic careers of our talented youth.

Like each year, we will be awarding financial prizes and prizes in the form of individual exhibitions in prestigious galleries. This time, the sum of prizes is the biggest in the history of this event. The winners of the contest will be awarded with: the Award of the Rectors, the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Award of the Marshall of the Pomerania Province, the Award of the President of Gdańsk, the Award of the President of Gdynia, the Awards of the President of Sopot, the Award of the Critics, the Award of the Head of the Gdańsk City Gallery, and the Award of the “Laznia” Centre for Contemporary Art.

I would like to thank the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for another three-year grant for organising this event and the founders of the awards: the Rectors of the academies, the Vice-Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage – professor Piotr Gliński, the Marshall of the Pomerania Province – Miczysław Struk, the President of Gdańsk – Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the President of Gdynia – Dr Wojciech Szczurek, the President of Sopot – Dr Jacek Karnowski, the Head of the Gdańsk City Gallery – Piotr Stasiowski, and the Head of the “Laznia” Centre for Contemporary Art – Jadwiga Charzyńska.

I would also like to thank all employees of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk – the organiser of the event – who contributed to bringing it to pass.
